Melting Pot & Salad Bowl
Melting Pot & Salad Bowl is a cookbook that showcases recipes and food-related stories from foreigners living in London. Full book is available here.
Besides the book, I also created recipe cards and posters using the imagery from the book.
The project was completed as a Final Major Project of my BA degree at London College of Communication.
Check out the process behind this project here.
Excerpt from the book:
"Melting Pot & Salad Bowl showcases 13 people from different corners of the world. They have all grown up in a foreign country, but now live in London. They are students, chefs, shop owners... Some of them have a big passion for food, others less, yet they all have a memory that relates to the food from their home.
This is not a cookbook about national dishes of different countries. It is a book that showcases recipes that those people used to eat back home or what they miss, some of them are traditional to a specific country, others are just particular to a person.
All these people have brought their cultures to London, where they still continue to use some of their habits from home, yet they are adapting and taking over from other cultures that live within the city. They all are part of the big melting pot and a salad bowl that London is."
